Welcome to the MadMonkeyhouse

Sometimes opportunity just falls in your lap. One minute you're the Minister for Health and Ageing, and next you are on the other side of the cross-benches. You wait your turn, patiently canvassing the support of your colleagues as you continue to get looked over for what is your right, your destiny. Finally, the big ticket item comes: the ETS. You know there will be a split in opinion, and that lefty leader of yours wont survive. Hell, even Kevin Andrews nearly gets what is your job. You know that you're not that popular with your colleagues, but you hope that Turnbull and Hockey split the moderate vote, and you can rely on what has served you so well throughout your life: your conservative background. You cause the spill and pray to God. This could be it.

Hockey's out first, a
surprise. Surely he was your greatest threat, with his strong media profile and appealing policy positions. All that's standing between you and the leadership of your party is Turnbull, the greenie.

It's close. One vote in it.

You win.

You have a feeling this is going to be the start of something historic, something that will take the party, and the country, back to the future. You finally say:

"Watch out Rudd you pansy, the Mad Monk's coming for you. And this time, it's personal."
